Established in 1921, Café Madrid S.A is the oldest coffee factory in Colombia, founded even before the National Federation of Coffee Growers of Colombia.

Our company began when Don Abel Londoño, a well-known Antioquian businessman and entrepreneur, founded (at the age of 18 years), the first coffee roasting company in Colombia. This beginning is registered in the National Federation of Coffee Growers archives. And the company was officially created in 1927.

From the beginning, the company has been called CAFÉ MADRID, a name that evoked feelings of elegance, distinction and prestige at that time. Now CAFÉ MADRID is a name that evokes feelings of history, consistency, and quality after over 85 years of experience in the business.

In the beginning, CAFÉ MADRID coffee was delivered on bicycle to its clients in parchment paper from our factory to their homes. The clients ground their coffee by hand at home to appreciate the aroma and flavor of the finest roast coffee in the country.

Over the years CAFÉ MADRID has maintained its quality coffee, reputation, and service while constantly updating and changing its equipment to stay at the forefront of the coffee industry both in its laboratories and industrial equipment. CAFÉ MADRID is proud to carry the Probat label -- the guarantee and backing to work with the best equipment of the coffee industry. And in 1992 Madrid S.A. was the first business in Colombia to develop and patent the degassing valve -- a novel way to keep coffee fresh.

Today, after 85 years of experience CAFÉ MADRID continues with its innovative spirit and openness to change and improvements. We currently have a wide variety of roasted and ground coffee and instant coffee products. Moreover, we're working to develop new products in order to diversify our current list and offer you, our customers, more coffee possibilities.
